Sunday 20th of march was the first of 3 visits to hawkstone park in 2011. Two weeks after the first round of the maxxis opener at little silver but 3weeks befor the opening world championship ment that the foregion company was strong, using hawkstone as preperation for their GP season.
A slow start 2 the day in qualifying, 18th after the 30min period! i was riding tense and if honest probably trying a little 2 hard togo fast instead of just letting it happen.
A couple of asprin helped with the arm pump for the first race, i really struggled with the concrete start all day buit was able to find those gaps on the first lap. The races were an extra 5 minutes on the usual maxxis races, i kept my head down and worked hard rite to the flag, finishing a strong 13th.
race 2 and not the best start again, managing 2 stay clear of trouble on the first lap it was time togo to work again. i felt real strong for the whole race and came across the chequers in 11th place.
Only 45 minutes between the second moto and the superfinal (top 20 mx2 and top 20mx1) with mx2 riders gettin a 5 second head start. This ment there would be lots of overtaking and an exciting watch for the spectators. i rode a smooth no mistakes race and managed to climb up into 13th place.
A good day, good practice and good preperation for Maxxis round 2 next weekend at canada heights!
